According to a recent survey commissioned by LendingTree, 53% of potential home buyers are more likely to buy a home due to the Corona Virus Outbreak. There are a few reasons why people consider investing in Real Estate during this time. For one, people are generally not going out and spending money, due to government shutdowns. As a result, people may have more money to make a down payment on something like a new home. The low mortgage rates are another good reason to potentially buy at this time. People are also spending more time at home due to social quarantine. With stay at home orders in effect, the true value of a comfortable home is priceless.

Dave and Patti talk about their memories at one Santa Barbara Amusement Park, ‘Kid’s World’, and share stories about their pets.

The HOP (The Home Ownership Podcast, Episode 10), A Seller’s Market

In this week’s episode of the HOP, Village Properties realtor David Charles Allen discusses the current fluctuating real-estate market conditions. The market is starting to pick back up, where pending sales and active sales are about equal. This means the new listings available are equal to the amount of listings being sold. The market is shifting into a seller’s market, meaning that sellers have more negotiation power, making it a good time for seller’s to list their home. A special shout out this week to Chuck, the audio engineer of our show. He has such a positive energy and we are grateful for your help!

Watch Out For Lottery Scams!

[iframe style=”border:none” src=”//html5-player.libsyn.com/embed/episode/id/14877860/height/100/width//thumbnail/no/render-playlist/no/theme/custom/tdest_id/1785518/custom-color/87A93A” height=”100″ width=”100%” scrolling=”no” allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen]

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is issuing a warning after an elderly man from San Jose recently lost $45,000 to a lottery scam. The scam was first reported by mail to the BBB in upstate New York. The BBB was rather surprised when the victim of the scam reported that the scammers claimed to be BBB employees. The scammers claimed that the man won a prize from the mega lottery. The real BBB found out about the scam when the victim wrote to the BBB, thinking that he was going to claim his prize. Surprisingly, the scammers continued to write the man in an attempt to collect an additional large sum of money. Scammers in this context will use emails, letters, or phone calls to claim that you won a cash prize. But rest assured that if you have to pay money to collect money, it is probably a scam! To report or investigate a potential scam, visit Scam Tracker, or call BBB of the Tri-Counties at 805-963-8657.

Additional summer camp safety guidelines and resources are available through the YMCA of the USA (YMCA-USA) and the American Camp Association (ACA).
